Our school is diverse, 56% white, 20% black, 14% Hispanic, 4% Asian, and 6% multiethnic. 28% of our students receive free/reduced lunch and 2% are homeless. With the diversity in our school, it is important that we provide books that can entice all students. My students love to read when they have a choice. They love the newest, latest and greatest YA books. Research shows that the number of minutes read per day correlates drastically with student achievement. My goal is to provide reading materials that will inspire all my students to become life-long readers.
