My school is a Title 1 school. Many of the students receive free and reduced lunch. The students are eager to learn when they find the learning relevant and important to their lives. Many of the students come to school to feel safe and find acceptance. The students know that their school is a place where they are safe and have the opportunity to be a child. This is important to state because many of the students come from home lives where they are expected to take on many adult responsibilities. Most importantly, our school is a place to grow academically. The students have learned to accept the teachers as partners on their journey to grow academically.
