Welcome to my class. I teach at a school where it is evident that some students have more than others. We live directly across the Colorado River and Laughlin Nevada. Many of our students have parents that work long hours and go to day care after school. Most of our parents work long hours at the casinos or they do not speak English proficient enough and can not help their children. Studies have shown over and over that the more children read the more successful students become. The study came from Reading Reasons and goes on to state that the average time spent reading is 7.1 minute a day in public schools. My goal is to motivate, support and inspire my students to read and read well.
