My students come from many homes where many of their basic needs are not being met, so when they come to school the first thing I want to make sure is that they have what they need. To fulfill this need I try to have the basics available that students are going to need. The second thing I want to make sure of is that my students feel loved and cared about, because when students feel loved and cared about then they can get excited about learning! My school is a Title 1 school in South Carolina. Many of the students attending my school receive free lunch. When they come to school many of them do not have the basic supplies they need, so each year I try to supply them with as many of the basic supplies as I can in my room. I try to provide opportunities for the students that they may never get the chance to experience through hands on activities and field trips.
