My students are 8th life science students. They come from all walks of life and have so much to offer and teach each other, as well as so much to learn from each other. Interestingly enough, nearly 60% of our student body qualifies for free lunch so affording just basic school supplies is a challenge for many families. My students are at an age where school may not be their first priority, and sometimes they make their lack of interest in a certain topic very apparent. Knowing that my students take a huge interest in hands on projects, I do my best to incorporate as many projects and science labs as possible so that I can captivate student interest. Despite the fact that the materials and resources are so extremely scarce in my school district, the climate of my school is very impressive. The staff and students are good people with really big hearts!
