Unfortunately, my students, like so many others are not able to live out this milestone in their lives. Being promoted to first grade from Kindergarten is a tradition that many children experience in the US. It is a time to celebrate their achievements and growth as they have matured throughout the school year. The materials will encourage them to keep practicing skills and build their confidence at the same time. I would also like them to know that learning takes place outside of the school building as we have just proven. Therefore, they need to continue to practice reading and spelling sight words to prepare for 1st grade.
