My biggest accomplishment will be instilling a passion for learning in my students. I want to give my students educational experiences that they will look back on and remember forever. I am lucky to teach 5TH grade Reading at a very low socioeconomic school where our free and reduced lunch rate is about 90%. Many of my kids come from unstable homes and come to school for stability and love. Many face challenges outside of school as well as in the classroom. They have very few opportunities to explore beyond their own backyard much less new worlds. While my school strives to provide a supporting, loving and engaging atmosphere for students to grow and learn, we fall short often when it comes to providing materials for classrooms that students may use to aid in their learning and understanding and eventual mastery of many concepts.
