My students are an enthusiastic group who come from low income families. They love books but many of them do not have access to a large selection. Our school is very diverse both culturally and socioeconomically. My classroom has a large English Language Learner where English is not their primary language. In addition we have several special education students. With such a diverse population, we are wanting to read stories that they can feel a sense of adventure as well as relate the the children in the book.
