I teach on the Leeward coast of Oahu which is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Unfortunately this area has also been struck with high poverty therefore leaving some students at a disadvantage before even walking into the classroom. They are filled with love and a desire to learn and truly need a place to feel safe and welcomed. Most of the students enter Kindergarten with little to no prior school experience. These students will bring the brightest smile to your face with their genuine love and "aloha spirit" that thrives on the Leeward coast. The teachers and administration are truly here for the right reason, and it shows. There is a strong sense of commitment and responsibility on the campus.
