I have 24 energetic children that are a part of our classroom community. I have 14 boys and 10 girls. They are a very social group and love spending time together. My school is part of a rural district that lies on the outskirts of a metro area. Despite our community consisting of mostly middle to upper class families, our district has a unique financial struggle. Our district is not part of a town or city where there is a business base for tax revenue. This creates a lot of challenges for school funding. Also, because of our demographic, we receive very little federal funding. Money for extra projects and supplies is hard to come by. We rely greatly on the generosity of our patrons to fill in the gaps.
