My students are at a Title One high school with the most cultural diversity in our school district. I teach 55 students from a variety of countries, including: Sudan, Iraq, Turkey, China, Vietnam, Honduras, Venezuela, and Mexico. Many of my students help support their parents and their families by working jobs in the evenings. I am always looking for engaging text and ways to raise the level of rigor in the classroom. I enjoy using graphic novels so that the pictures in the text can support comprehension. With the help of Donors Choose, I have been able to supply our future generation of adults with meaningful literature that will build their understanding of the world in which we live. Our classroom conversations foster communication skills. We share ideas on good citizenship and gratitude every day. Thank you in advance for making the world a better place by supporting public education.
