As a teacher in a Title I school, my students are faced with difficult situations on a daily basis. Each and every year, my students are eager to learn but become overwhelmed by the struggles that arise in their lives. My classroom is a warm and inviting place where I try to create an atmosphere conducive to learning and fun. Throughout my 8 years of teaching, I have accumulated a vast variety of resources and materials to help my students have a successful school year and become independent, lifelong learners. I feel that I have helped hundreds of students over my career and due to my previous success, I have been afforded the opportunity to teach a class with a very different makeup than ever before. I will be teaching a class comprised of English Language Learners, some of which are still adjusting to life in a new country. I am excited for this new opportunity, but my classroom is missing the resources that can further help these students reach their maximum potential.
