I teach in a very high-need community. Our school is a 7-12 school. I am currently teaching 8th grade Language Arts. I have 115 students. Each year we face a depletion of resources due to a lack of funds. Each year I strive to bring the love of reading to students, however, most of my students do not have the resources at home to go out and purchase a new book. We do not have the funds to purchase new engaging novels for our students. They continue to read outdated, destroyed copies of books. It would be a joy to have at our disposal, a new set of novels that students could relate to and be interested in reading.
