When people think of Naples, Florida, they usually picture wealth and beautiful beaches. While this is certainly true in many parts of Naples, poverty does exist in certain areas and sadly, our school is not the only Title 1 school in Collier County. The majority of my students are ELL (English Language Learners) and were born in other countries. I teach students from Cuba, Mexico, Haiti, Guatemala, Argentina, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. The diversity in my classroom is challenging, but I know that technology will help me bridge this gap. This year, I have 10 students that are working up to 2 years below grade level! The remainder of my students are working on grade level or above grade level, and 4 students have been identified as intellectually gifted (exceptionally high IQ). Your gift will allow 38 hardworking students to reach new heights by allowing me to differentiate the learning opportunities in my classroom.
