My students are excited to learn and eager readers. They don’t lack the motivation to read, but they do lack access to a variety of non-fiction resources. The print and digital magazine will provide students with the resources to increase their reading level, deepen comprehension, and expand vocabulary. The Time magazines will be used in class for lessons, close reading, and homework. They will have exposure to academic vocabulary that enhances their writing, current events and science in rich and exciting way. The project will allow them access to the world outside of their neighborhood which they currently do not have, but deserve. This will allow me to fulfill my promise to them that I will do all that I can to prepare them to take over the world someday.
