In this age of technology, getting students to pick up a book and read can be challenging. My classroom library is a hodgepodge of donated books, books with missing pages, and frankly not many high-interest books for the students to choose from. These books will be used during our Daily 5 Language Arts rotations every day. These rotations include Read to Self, Buddy Reading, and Work on Writing. I chose books that will directly correlate with these concepts. The books will also give me a wide assortment of choices to use during guided reading and class read-alouds. We are proud Battle of the Books district champions and many of these books are listed on the 2016-2017 required reading list. I want to instill a love for reading! It makes this teacher's heart happy when a child completes a task and pulls out a book and reads. The crates and magazine holders will help keep the books organized and easily accessible for the students. Your donation will greatly help to get students on their way.
