I serve a school in Oakland Unified School District in California. My students reflect the diversity of the Bay Area, it's what keeps me here. The students I serve are from a low income/high violence neighborhood in Oakland, California. My students see the world as a place of opportunity and my job is to give them an education to be able to access that opportunity. Everyday they serve as a reminder to me about how strong and determined youth can be.
