My students are very special. For the most part they have grown up in an urban environment. Many of them have had poor experiences in previous schools. Our school is an Arts Integrated, Project based charter high school. Any student in the city may apply for the lottery to gain acceptance to our charter school. There is no minimal GPA requirement nor any other stipulation. Our motto is "known. loved. inspired." I truly feel we live up to this promise to students. They feel safe at our school and at home. For many of them, for the first time, they feel appreciated at school and cared for by their teachers. Since we are arts integrated many students have a passion for the arts and for hands on learning and building. We have many students who would like to attend arts colleges focusing in everything from fashion design, to theater, to dance. Our students are talented and flourishing. We had a 92% graduation rate last year. The highest in our city.
