My students, like many other students in Baltimore city, don't have access to many of the modern technologies and up to date resources that will prepare them for the real world. My school is working hard to provide these resources, but obtaining them takes time. This is time my students do not have. They have to overcome problems each day with which most adults would struggle. Most days their biggest success is getting to school in the morning with their little brothers and sisters. They deserve to be celebrated for this success with engaging lessons and materials that will prepare them not only for middle school, but for the rest of their educational career.
