The cozy environment has encouraged more independent reading and collaboration. Watching them settle into the couch with a book in hand or curl up on the carpet to read has been a heartwarming reminder of how a nurturing environment can deepen learning and connection.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with pure joy and disbelief. Each week, the students who were present for the entire week that week get to choose a special treat. The Attendance Team travels to each classroom so that those children who were there that week can feel recognized and be excited, but so that the other children also get to see that good things happen for those students who come to school daily. Parents are seeing pictures and posts about it on our school-wide communication as well, so they are happy when they are also getting recognized and seeing pictures of their children enjoying their treats.\r\n\r\nOur attendance rate was already up 2% since the last week in March, and we can't wait to see how high we can go!","fullyFundedDate":1744399645363,"projectUrl":"project/sweet-success-incentives-for-attendance/9245949/","projectTitle":"Sweet Success! It definitely helps focus them, and older students have said it is calming to use. \r\n\r\nI have created many social stories for our students who need to know what to expect in certain social situations, made first/then reward boards, printed core language boards to help students communicate, and put together visual schedules.
