Our school is located in an area of off base military housing. The children that attend our school are the sons and daughters of active military service men and women. They are subject to frequent moves and family changes as Mom, Dad, or sometimes both leave for deployment. With our proximity to medical care we get a high number of children with exceptional needs, currently 20% of our students are on (Individual Education Plans). Our classroom is made up of 70% typical learners and 30% exceptional learners. Early on in school we discuss that, "Fair is not equal. Fair is everyone getting what they need to be successful." Second graders are incredibly enthusiastic about learning and unconditional in their acceptance of others. No different than other second graders out there we have a lot of energy! We try to include movement in everything we do and try to support each learners unique style of learning. Our classroom is truly a family and full of joy and smiles!
