I have about 90 students on my roster everyday. My class replaces an elective they would have (ex. PE, Art or Dance) because they did not pass state mandated testing. Many times students dread coming to reading class. My goal is to make the class fun and rewarding for them while creating a link to world events and other subject matter. I truly believe that knowledge is power. Enhancing their vocabulary and fluency skills will also help them as overall learners.
