With their own Jr. composition books, students are now able to immediately apply what they see modeled and the improvement in their handwriting, independence and overall writing stamina has been remarkable.\r\n The Halloween and Christmas sparkle stickers, Christmas erasers, Smelly stickers, sticky hands, pull-back cars, and a variety of snacks- including Takis, Cheez-Its, Rice Krispies Treats, and Scooby-Doo snacks- have brought excitement and motivation into the classroom. The incentives have encouraged positive behavior, increased participation, and helped create a joyful classroom environment.\r\n Overall, this project has provided structure, motivation, and meaningful learning opportunities. When this happens, we have to go into a classroom instead of being outside. We usually deliver our lessons on Nutrition and water safety. Our principal wanted us to focus on Math and Reading this year to help our students improve their skills. We use the Bingo games for this purpose. The Bingo games are geared to these subjects.\r\n\r\nWe are also focusing on the components of fitness which include Body composition. Our scale helps to show the students how much muscle, water, bones, etc., that their body contains. It helps to explain it a bit more. It also shows hydration levels which we encourage students to always drink water during exercise.\r\n\r\nThe other items we purchased are enhance our program with bits and pieces that get broken over the years. We were just short of a full set.
