The students in our class have a true desire to learn. Many of them are living in an environment where education isn't at the forefront of home life. It is my belief that we have the perfect time to guide them into making a choice to educate themselves for their future to be brighter. It is in the classroom that I get to know them and for 6 1/2 hours a day. We need to provide students with an environment that will make them want to learn and never leave. Our class has 18 students. We have 10 females and 8 males. We are in a rural community and many of our students live with grandparents. Many times they are only exposed to standard English at school and in books.
