My students are astounding. About 50% of them live in the nearby homeless shelter. Others live in small apartments with big families. Do they complain? No. They come to class with smiles. They offer to share with me and with each other anything and everything they have. "Mrs. M can you read two chapters today?" "Maybe, if everyone finishes their math warm up" "Oh!, oh! Mrs. M said, if we all finish, she will read TWO chapters today!" Just thinking of them, brings a smile to my face. Our school is a wonderful place to work for. I often hear, "what's better for the kids?, then things are decided. Overall, I'm amazed of the generosity of time and attention our school community has.
