I have been teaching English in the inner city now for 9 years; I am also a certified yoga and meditation teacher. My students have been through much trauma and have lost many of their classmates due to gun violence in the last two years. A meditation nook will help my students with learning how to cope with trauma, stress, and all other adverse environmental chaos. This is why a meditation nook would help my students be peaceful and successful in their studies and life beyond high school. The skills they can learn from their meditation and yoga skills will positively influence my students' lives and high school experience.
