Many of my students come from very low income homes. Many have never used a computer before and often struggle using the mouse. We will use the Amazon Fire Tablets during small groups in Language Arts. Students are very engaged and interested when they think they are playing a game that they often don't realize how much they are learning at the same time! The students will be able to learn their letters, sounds, and begin to read through educational apps. The touch screen will make it easier for my students to strive using technology. There are so many amazing educational apps out there. Being able to give them the resources they need to be successful readers will help boost their confidence in themselves and their ability to reach their goals.
