My students have a disconnect between the energy they use and the source of the energy. Although we get to read about forms of energy such as fossil fuels and solar energy, a hands on energy experience is what we need. With these solar kits my students will be able to trace the energy from its source as well as have a memorable experience with alternative energy. They will use the kits to power their projects and explore the energy transfers that occur. The finished product will not only allow my students to understand alternate energy and how the transfer of energy occurs, but these kits will also fuel my students curiosity for alternative energy on a much larger scale.
