I teach 9th grade in an urban high school in a high poverty area and over 98% of our students are eligible for free our reduced price lunch. Our school is underfunded and the classrooms lack resources and supplies. Many students live in stressful environments outside of school, and a structured, well run classroom environment is crucial to their learning.
