I teach kindergarten students. They love learning anything and everything, especially when it comes to animals. My school is in the heart of Kern County. We are surrounded by agricultural landscapes. My parents are farm workers for the most part. The majority of them work on the citrus and grape industry. My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and most of them haven't seen much outside our county. I grew up in this community and decided to come back and service my community. I love how friendly the people of this town are and how they all seem to know each other. I love to make my classroom a very welcoming place for them. As a result, I have a very good attendance rate. I love buying children's books to foster literacy and a love of reading. I also incorporate technology as much as I can as this is a very important tool in modern day education. I would love to earn enough money to purchase headphones.
