At my high-poverty school in the heart of Washington, D.C., my principal admires us--teachers and students--for being scrappy. Enrollment has soared over the past few years along with our results and school culture, but funding here and across the city hasn't kept pace. The kids in my class love a challenge and are very flexible when it comes to what's available to us, but sometimes we look to the community to help us get the supplies we need to succeed. Your support helps my scrappy scholars get the education they deserve!
