Ours is a Title I school serving students primarily from Harlem and the Bronx. Our students are rarely exposed to sports and athletics in their own communities. Since beginning the running club, however, they have shown unwavering enthusiasm for the sport. We were thrilled to welcome over 30 students to the club. They come to practice twice a week to work on speed and endurance and always show up with huge smiles on their faces. Throughout the season we have seen them grow not only as runners, but also as teammates and young adults. We have been blown away by their ability to persevere through challenges and encourage each other to be their best.

About my class
