I've always been a big proponent of "morning meeting" in a classroom because it fosters a sense of family and security that is essential in order for children to thrive. This year, I've added mindful breathing to our meeting and it has made a world of difference. In the words of Thich Nhat Hanh, "Every one of us already has the seed of mindfulness. The practice is to cultivate it."
