Our school is about 65% free and reduced lunch. We are a ethnically diverse school, not only with students, but with staff. Since we are so diverse and global, it is even more crucial that students stay informed and develop greater tolerance. It is also important for students to attain the ability to get along with others and solve problems collaboratively and peacefully. As a Talent Development teacher, it is my goal to cultivate intellect in our school. Many of the students are unaware of how world events and national events impact their daily lives and future. Students frequently ask about events, but don't have the background knowledge and wish to engage in discussion and dialogue regarding events they heard second hand. My goal is for students to develop their opinions based on fact-based multiple sources.
