Doerfler Elementary is a K-8 school located in inner-city Milwaukee. 100% of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch. The population of my school is multi-ethnic, drawing largely from the Hispanic neighborhood in which it resides. My first grade students have shown such an enthusiasm for learning to read. These young readers take pride in their abilities and work together to support each other in this common endeavor.
