Welcome to our happy place! My population of students come from very diverse Socio economic and cultural backgrounds. The kids are amazing, excited and eager to learn and are very loved and supported by us. However,they face the challenges of many rigorous hours of teaching in the upper grades with less playtime on the playground and less time for body movement breaks, and at 9 and 10, they are really just a bundle of energy!!! I'm hoping this project will allow them to use these items to have some of that movement in class while we still plow through all of the information they need in order to prepare them to be powerful students walking through the doors of their middle school next year.
