I have placed the calming strips on the students' Chromebooks, and they use them while writing and researching. They loved having the opportunity to choose a calming strip for their Chromebooks and also having time to sit and use the Breathing Pal. The Breathing Pal was especially wonderful because it changes colors and helps guide them to breathe and calm down. I now have a sign-up sheet where students can reserve time in the calming corner, and it fills up first thing in the morning.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our calming corner are to add more tools to support relaxation and self-regulation. This system allows them to quickly and easily reach the supplies they need without disrupting their learning time.\r\n\r\nThe rotating feature of the organizer has also made a big difference. Because the container spins, everyone in the group can access the supplies without having to pass materials back and forth. This past week during science, when students needed to cut and glue paper, they were able to easily and independently gather their materials.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw their new organizers, they were so excited to have a special place to store their belongings.
