The new soccer equipment has brought so much joy to my students. The students are using them during their morning, lunch, and afternoon recess. We also had our first Friday classroom game, and the students were thrilled to play with our new equipment. Using the equipment, students have learned to communicate, cooperate, and support each other as a team. \r\nWhen the students saw all the new equipment, cheers erupted around the classroom. Instantly, everyone was ready to head outside and play. Having a full set of soccer equipment excited them, and they eagerly discussed taking care of it and sharing it with other classes. I plan to use these materials to nurture both sportsmanship and leadership skills. Students will receive assigned jobs and roles for equipment use. Using the supplies as incentives, I also plan to reward completed classwork with extra Friday recess. I just started a new school year with a new group of students and they are very excited about the carpet. The old carpets in our school are very hard and rough. Our new carpet is very soft and they actually love rubbing their hands on it. It is very sensory pleasing. \r\n We will be using this carpet so much this year. We do most of our mini-lessons, some direct instruction, SEL lessons, and our community circle on our carpet. The branches and leaf theme of the carpet is very inviting. It inspired be to add a few more nature related decor to the classroom for a calming effect. \r\n The rug definitely gets a lot of use during our \"Friday Fun\" time. As you can see in the pictures, the students really enjoy playing on the carpet with building materials, especially Legos. Thank you so much again. These new thesauruses and dictionaries will provide my students with the skill of adding more details and variety in their writing. They love to write and sometimes they are very repetitive with the vocabulary they use. These new thesauruses will allow them to add more vocabulary. I have already seen the improvement in their writing. Prior to having the books in our classroom we only had five thesauruses and 7 dictionaries in the class. The students found it hard to use the resources since there were not enough. Since getting the books the students can now have four at each of their tables. Having access to these thesauruses and dictionaries has allowed them to easily add more variety in their writing. \r\nIn my classroom reading and writing are done everyday so it is important to have resources to help them in their writing process. They have a writing workshop time where they can correct and add to improve their writing. \r\nI would say all my students are enjoying writing in class because we do a lot of narrative writing. They love having access to resources where they can make their writing more descriptive. They especially like it when they look for a new word and they have a wide range of words to pick from. They get really excited to see how many new words they can include in their writing. We've started using them in class to deepen our learning of letters and numbers. When the items arrived, my students were cheering with joy and couldn't wait to start using everything! \r\n\r\nWe have since begun using the alphabet tubs as a fun way to review words that begin with each letter and also support our writing. We are currently working on creating a class book for each letter, and the tubs have been instrumental in making this happen. Our goal is to publish our own book so we can read it again and again and share our learning with the new incoming Kinder class.\r\n\r\nWe have used the books during our whole class lessons to support our social study units on celebrations, social emotional skills and learning about math. They have been a great addition to our class library! We have a block of time when students have the opportunity to read books by themselves or with a friend and they've picked up the books time and time again. \r\n\r\nThe math puzzles have been put to good use during our math center times. Often the students will lay them out and practice building the puzzles as a team. The 1-100 puzzle has been particularly challenging and fun for them. It keeps them entertained, but also helps support with team building skills and problem solving. They also love challenging themselves to see how fast they can build the puzzles. \r\n\r\nThank you so much again for your donations and for providing my students with new and fun opportunities to practice our learning.
