My students attend a low income school in Nevada. The graduation rate is less than 50% and the school has recently been given a School Improvement Grant which allowed the school to hire more teachers to reduce the teacher to student ratio and extend the school day 20 minutes. Almost none of my students have drivers licenses or cars. Sadly almost none of them grew up in a home that had books in it and even wore very few grew up having family dinner even once a week.
