My students are courageous. They face difficulties at every turn. Yet they keep working, smiling and reach out to help others. We have a very diverse student body. Our diversity is one of our strengths. We have students who are refugees, who work hard to learn English. We have students who live in the homeless shelter. We are the magnet school for gifted and talented students in our district. Many of my students come from a low-socioeconomic background. It is a daily struggle for many to obtain life essentials. I am proud of the perseverance and determination my students show.
