Our Kimbark Environmental Leadership Program (KELP) is made of of 5th and 6th graders who desire to make a difference in the world around them. The KELP kids know that even young children can make a difference, and they want to make sure that kids all over San Bernardino know this as well. KELP kids know that if they can tell others about recycling, and show them how easy it is to recycle, more people will recycle and less trash will be placed in landfills. They want to show people how to conserve natural resources, as well as teach students how to recycle, reduce and reuse. This leadership program has taught our students how to be respectful, responsible and safe when it comes to people and the environment. They feel that if they can provide other schools with the tools to recycle, those schools will start making a difference in their communities and eventually the world will know about recycling!
