My students make me laugh every day! They are smart, sarcastic, and are not afraid of living. They represent the global community, and they push me to up my game on a daily basis. They are not afraid to push themselves but are still learning their abilities and limitations. Many of them have told me that they no longer have any interest in reading or writing, and that these have become a chore for them. They associate the crafts with tasks at school. Together, we're finding ways to use our reading and writing to really dig into our thinking. Though sometimes hesitant, my students are willing to have me push them out of their comfort zones and see how capable each of them are at becoming smart readers and writers.
