Our school is located in the inner city and is made up of a diverse population of students. There are 601 students; 70% are english language learners and 93% of our students qualify for reduced or free lunch. I work with a passionate and caring group of teachers who work together every day to create the best learning environment for our kids. My classroom is full of 25 amazing first grade students who come to school excited and eager to learn. My students are funny, silly, smart, strong and energetic. There are seven different languages spoken in my classroom and each student brings a unique background and story. They thrive on positive praise and movement throughout the day. They work hard everyday in writers workshop, readers workshop and math. The students get excited about technology as many of them do not have access at home.
