Many students face traumatic experiences that they cannot leave at the door of their house. Bringing those experiences into the school can have detrimental effects on a student's emotional and mental health. These chairs will allow a student to remain in the classroom while also giving them a place in the classroom to take a step back and breathe, so they will be able to process their thoughts and emotions and ready themselves to learn. Many times students enter the classroom in the midst of trying to deal with a stressful situation. It would be very helpful for them to have a place to go in order to gather their thoughts. Having the foam floor chairs offers a unique seating arrangement where they are removed from the other students yet still in the class. Students love having options. Having an option to process their thoughts without being sent to a discipline room is a win-win situation.
