Students at my school live in a neighborhood that contains a wide range of socio-economic statuses. Included are families that may not have the ability to provide innovative technological devices for children to use at home. Yet our classrooms are lacking the ability to compensate for this and provide students with adequate hands-on use of new technologies. I find this incredibly sad considering we live so close to the Silicon Valley! Our school includes a wide spectrum of languages, ethnicity's, and academic parental involvement. We must find a way to support the academic and technological needs of our diverse population so that our students have a better chance to succeed as they move on to the demands of higher education.
