This year I am teaching a group of Gifted and Talented 3rd grade students. They are self motivated, eager to learn and just plain old adorable. They love showing off their creations that generous donors have blessed us with. Our class discussions are amazing because they use higher order thinking skills while they read. They are not afraid to take risks because I praise their efforts and our motto is FAILing is our First Attempt In Learning. They are working on their problem solving skills and how to work collaboratively. They are learning how to disagree respectively and most of all, compromising, so that each child gets heard and represented in group projects. Don't even get me started on how empathetic they are, even when I'm "not watching." This class is full of wonderful little humans that are excited about learning and succeeding. I am already having an awesome year and it has only been a month.
