For 5 years we have had no gas supply or safe Bunsen burners. This has seriously limited the types of labs performed. As a high-performance technical school, labs are an integral part of all our chemistry classes. Labs are not only essential but also a real world, sensory example of what is the unseen world they are exploring and learning. Chemistry as the central science incorporates math, logic, and reasoning skills. These are all life skills required for success in the real world. Currently there are 175 students enrolled in general, pre-AP and AP chemistry. These needs are real and will be used throughout the entire year.
