My students are members of a competitive speech and debate team in a public school in a suburban area of Oklahoma. Each year, students fund raise money to attend approximately 17 different speech/debate contests during the course of the year. Students from my school consistently qualify for the National Forensic League National Tournament each summer. In fact, in my tenure of the last eleven (11) years, I have had the fortune of attending nationals ten (10) consecutive times. Team members are not merely content with attending nationals, but they want to do well and be successful with that opportunity. While I have no national champions to my credit, I am the coach of several state champions along with several respectable finishes at the national tournament.
