Our 3rd grade students are energetic and curious children. They possess a love for literacy and are often overheard sharing story plots or making book recommendations. Hearing cheers or an applause upon finishing a beloved story is common practice in our classroom. In the spring, students are still recalling stories read to them at the start of the school year. Our 3rd graders are part of an integrated classroom with General Education, Special Education students and English Language Learners. This type of classroom environment promotes tolerance of all students. Our school is a public school, where students speak more than a dozen languages, and more than 80% receive free lunch.
