I teach 6th grade Language Arts to students in an urban setting. Because it is a public school, our students come to us from surrounding neighborhoods and create a diverse community of learners. In addition to teaching English, I also design and make the costumes for our annual musical. Participating in the musical is an exciting enrichment opportunity for our students that helps to prepare many of them to attend specialized arts high schools.
