Our students come from an area where streets are unsafe and parks empty. Students at our school feel safe on campus and enjoy the activities and experiences it has created for them. School becomes a home away from home for many students. With our school being only three years old, students have worked hard to create school spirit! And the easiest way to create school spirit is to build an athletic program. My students have expressed to me how much they would love to start a tennis team. As a tennis player in high school, I wanted to take on that challenge and start a team. These students are dedicated and passionate about their school and take pride in everything they do. And with the lack of equipment and resources at school they would be happy with the bare minimum. A portable net, rackets, and tennis balls would make their day!
